The next membership meeting will be at Art and Jan Archambeault's home, 1240 Pennsylvania Avenue, Harrisburg. NOTE: This meeting was originally scheduled to be held at the Chocolate Cafe' in Linglestown, where we met in September. However, the restaurant notified us on Saturday afternoon that they could not accommodate us, so Art and Jan graciously offered to have the meeting at their home. The restaurant's notification came after we had already mailed out notices to those members who do not use e-mail. On Thursday evening Art will wait for awhile outside the Chocolate Cafe to re-direct any members who go there, but if you know anyone who plans to attend the meeting and does not use e-mail, please call them and tell them of the change in location. At this meeting, we will schedule the membership meetings for 2008, and decide on locations. Please try to be there, or if you can't, give your thoughts to someone who will be. One question is whether we alternate the location between the Harrisburg and Lancaster areas as we did in 2007, and perhaps add a third location in the York area. Another option is to choose one "central" location and hold all meetings there. Mark your calendar for next year – Saturday July 12, 2008 - Second Annual AACA Museum Show, co-sponsored by our Region and the Upper Susquehanna Region. August 12-16, 2008 - CLC 2008 Grand National Meet, hosted by the Valley Forge Region, in Cherry Hill, NJ. If you want to attend a Grand National Meet within a short drive from home, this is your opportunity! This meet will celebrate CLC's 50th Anniversary, and will be very well attended. Host hotel is the Crowne Plaza in Cherry Hill. Direct phone for reservations is 856-665-6666; special CLC rate is $128 per night, plus tax. If Crowne Plaza is sold out (which will happen soon if not already), the back-up hotel is the Holiday Inn in Cherry Hill, which is 1/2 mile from the Crowne Plaza. DIRECTIONS TO ARCHAMBEAULTS' HOME The following directions are from Mapquest. The only "tricky" point is that after you take Exit 72B off of Route 81 North, you are actually looping back around and coming up over Route 81. (If you exit from 81 South, bear right at the end of ramp.) Directions from downtown Harrisburg area Route 22 West to I-81 North toward Hazleton/Allentown Go 5.4 miles and get off at Exit 72B – Linglestown. Take the ramp toward I-81N/Hazleton/Allentown; merge onto N. Mountain Road Go 1.2 miles and turn left on Linglestown Road (Route 39) Follow Linglestown Road for 0.3 miles and turn left on Pennsylvania Avenue, then a quick right on Larue Street, then another left on Pennsylvania Avenue - -- house will be on your right. Directions from Lancaster area 283 West; take exit for I-283 North (toward Harrisburg); this becomes I-83 North. Continue on I-83 North for about 3 miles. Take Exit #51B onto I-81 North toward Hazleton/Allentown – go 2.9 miles Take Exit #72B toward Linglestown Take the ramp toward I-81 N/Hazleton/Allentown; merge onto N. Mountain Road Go 1.2 miles and turn left on Linglestown Road (Route 39) Follow Linglestown Road for 0.3 miles and turn left on Pennsylvania Avenue, then a quick right on Larue Street, then another left on Pennsylvania Avenue - -- house will be on your right. Directions from York area Take Route 30 West to I-83 North. Follow I-83 North for 28.8 miles, then merge onto I-81 North via Exit 51-B toward Hazleton/Allentown. Follow I-81 North for 2.9 miles, then take Exit #72B toward Linglestown Take the ramp toward I-81 N/Hazleton/Allentown; merge onto N.
