New website of the Central Pennsylvania
Region Cadillac & LaSalle Club

Hello everyone. I hope your winter
went well and each of you are enjoying this onset of Spring. This year ,
this new Spring brings with it a new challenge. Our club has formed a new
alliance with Kelly Cadillac near Mt. Joy Pa. directly right off of Rt
283.
As you all know for many years we
enjoyed the relationship we had with Brenner Cadillac. Since their
Closing one of our members, Peter Poneros stepped up and forward and
through relationships and good fellowship has opened an opportunity with
Kelly Cadillac. After an initial opening meeting between office holders
within the club it was intimated to me that great enthusiasm exist on the
part of Kelly Cadillac. Peter and I met with him yesterday to start
working out logistics for the show and I can personally attest to that
enthusiasm.
As in the past you have all
responded in a most favorable fashion when called upon to do so. Once
again, I need your help. Starting a new relationship puts even a greater
burden on us to put on a good show, favorable to us and the dealership.
I ask you to come to the show this
spring. Not only that , but encourage any of your friends to bring their
car, any make, any year, even new. I am open to any suggestions to
put on a great show. I encourage you to call me any evening at your
leisure , for me to except your input.
I can be reached at
717-671-8768 up till 9pm.
The show is June 7Th, more
info in the upcoming newsletter.
Plan on attending if you can next
months club meeting as your input in this event is important .
Please if you can, register early so
I can give Mr. Kelly an idea of how many are coming. You can send a
check to me, made out to the CLC, Central pa. reg.
Early Registration is 12.00 ,
at the gate 15.00
Enclose a small note
with what year car, make and model and address.
I will do all the
rest and have you all ready when you pull in.
Mail to: Art Archambeault 1240 ,
Pa. Avenue, HarrisburgPa. 17112
I think Mr. Kelly's idea is that by
on or about the 25th of May if he has an idea of the amount of registrants
, he can gage the size of the event and decide then on advertising dollars
appropriate to the size of the event.
So again , mark the date,
June 7th, Kelly Cadillac and plan to attend. Tell your friends. Encourage
them to come, to enjoy the show or bring their own car, any make, any
year. Thanks so much for all your help. Art, Activities Director, CLC

10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is the grand opening day for the Museum's new
special exhibit on "FINS"! This exhibit will feature 21 finned beauties
from 1948 through 1961, including two Cadillacs -- a 1948 sedan and a 1959
convertible. The other exhibit cars include some very unusual examples,
such as a 1952 Allstate, a 1958 Dual-Ghia, a 1957 Dodge Sweptside pick-up
truck, a 1958 Packard Hawk and a 1961 Chrysler Newport Station Wagon.

Sunday May 11, 2008 (MOTHER'S DAY) - Join the
Central Penn Region for the Mother's Day Make-A-Wish Cadillac Caravan.

Sonic Drive In is located at the intersection of Route 272 and Route 772.
We will leave Sonic Drive In at 1:10 p.m. sharp to drive to our
destination on Route 222 North, where we will park the Cadillacs together
while watching the caravan of gleaming tractor-trailer trucks giving rides
to seriously ill children in support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Come
to Sonic early (12:30 or so) and grab a bite to eat. Bring lawn chairs,
since the cars will be parked by the side of the road while the caravan
goes by. DIRECTIONS TO SONIC DRIVE IN - Route 222, exit at Brownstown and
turn right. Cross over Route 272, which is also Oregon Pike, pass
Wachovia Bank on the corner, and make a right into parking lot next to
Wachovia Bank. This is in front of a strip mall. You will pass a
restaurant and Subway. Sonic is at the end of the strip. Art suggests we
all park in the back two rows. For more information, call Art

Times were good in America during the 1950s. Returning WWII vets had jobs
families, money to spend, and dreams of a prosperous, positive future. It
was time of big hair, full employment, rock and roll, drive-in movies, and
hamburger stands serviced by roller-skating poodle-skirted "car hops."
American industry was in full swing, converting from wartime to peacetime
production. It was poised and ready to supply whatever American wanted to
buy - and Americans wanted new cars.
Detroit met this growing market with some of the largest, boldest and most
audacious vehicles ever to roll down America's roads. The drab colors and
dated designs of the war years gave way to brightly colored,
chrome-covered highway cruisers many of which sported the styling feature
of the decade - tailfins.
The Antique Auto Museum at Hershey will pay tribute this extraordinary
chapter in America's automotive history with a major exhibit dedicated to
the tailfin. It provides Museum visitors a chance to explore the
development of the tailfin from 1948 to 1961 by featuring 22 classic
examples on loan from individual collectors and the General Motors
Heritage Center.
The Antique Auto Museum at Hershey, a member of the Smithsonian Institute
Affiliations Program, displays beautifully restored automobiles in unique
scenes and settings. This Museum is one of the nation's newest and largest
automotive museums. Visitors are transported through eight decades in time
from New York to San Francisco, making each visit a visual adventure for
all ages. Special exhibits and events change throughout the year giving
return visitors something new. The Museum is located just off Route 39,
one mile west of Hersheypark Drive in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Regular
admission $9, seniors age 61 and older $8, juniors age 4-12 $7, children
age 3 and under are FREE. The Museum is open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00
PM. For further information, please call 717-566-7100 or visit
